hSenid and Network365 Launches first secure mobile wallet in Sri Lanka for Celltel |

Offers unique SMS activated ‘one-click’ payment facility
Sri Lanka & Dublin, Ireland, 21st October 2002. Network365, a leading provider of secure mobile payments, personalization and identification platforms, today announced that Celltel Lanka, Sri Lanka’s leading mobile operator, has choosen mzone™ avatar to enable its users to make payments for goods and services with a simple SMS (Short Message Service), marking another milestone in the convergence of mobile communications and information technology in Sri Lanka.
The first of its kind in the region, the CellWallet™ provides encrypted electronic storage for information pertaining to a user’s credit cards, debit cards, bank accounts and other personal data, allowing the user to issue payment instructions from his or her mobile phone, without having to transmit such sensitive data ‘over the air’ for each transaction.
Celltel has also choosen mzone SMS Banking Server, a mobile banking solution which enables subscribers to execute basic bank account operations anytime, anywhere from their mobile device. This solution was jointly developed by Network365 and hSenid, a software development partner in Sri Lanka. Key features of SMS banking include: fund transfers between accounts; account balance inquiries; account statement requests; cheque book and cheque status requests; cheque cancellation requests; and significant balance changes alerts. This new mobile banking solution is location and time sensitive, is quick and easy to access and ensures that users always have account information at their fingertips when they need it.
Using Network365 mzone avatar, a secure mobile wallet enabling secure macro and micro payments, personalization and identification, CellWallet has been launched in Sri Lanka in collaboration with hSenid, a premier mobile software applications developer and Sampath Bank, which provides the Internet Payment Gateway and acts as a clearing house for transactions in the region.

Using mzone avatar, Celltel’s subscribers will create their wallets with a simple SMS message. The wallets will be hosted on a VeriSign secure site provided by Celltel. The creator of each wallet will then access the site and enter his or her personal details and use this secure information to pay for goods and services. Subscribers can personalize the service with a range of shipping addresses, payment methods and other options.
