Colombo, Sri Lanka, 8th December 2005. The awards ceremony of the island wide mobile software competition, organized by hSenid Software International, a leading provider of mobile solutions in Sri Lanka, was held on the 8th of December 2005 at Galle Face Hotel, Colombo. The main objective hSenid saw in organizing this type of a competition was to encourage undergraduates to design and develop innovative mobile application as well as to help them to gain exposure to the real-world scenarios in software development by providing them industrial guidance and support.

The chief guest for this prestigious award ceremony was CEO and Managing Director of ICT Agency Mr. Manju Hathotuwa and the award ceremony was attend by exclusive audience comprising of University Deans and Head of departments of all the universities in Sri Lanka, Senior Management from the ICT Agency as well CEO's and senior executives from the mobile network operators, banks and other industry players.

"hSenid organized this competition in view of providing a unique platform for young undergraduates to show there talent and help them to be recognize in the industry for developing innovative mobile solutions" said Mr. Dinesh Saparamadu, CEO, hSenid Software International.

The winning group of the competition was from the University of Moratuwa, faculty of IT and was awarded a cash prize of Rs.50, 000/= and book vouchers worth Rs. 20,000/= for the university for there application, "Easiest Road Finder" a SMS based road finder system, which works based on traffic and time based values to identify best matching path to a specified location given by the user.

The 1st runner up group was from the University of Peradeniya, faculty of Engineering and was awarded a cash prize of Rs.25,000/= and book vouchers worth Rs. 15,000/= for the university for there "Location based system" for mobile phones which provides the nearest services such as hospitals, police, restaurants etc.
