Colombo, Sri Lanka, 8th December 2005. The awards ceremony of the island wide mobile software competition, organized by hSenid Software International, a leading provider of mobile solutions in Sri Lanka, is to be held on the 8th of December 2005.

hSenid organized this competition in view of encouraging undergraduates in the design and development of market ready mobile solutions that focus on services that add value, create convenience, make daily life and work easier and more efficient. As Information Technology has become a very competitive industry, undergraduates should show an edge over their competitors who strive to get into an IT company these days. In view of this prevailing situation, competitions such as these would provide an opportunity for students to be involved from the start of a product conceptualization and to the end of product delivery, enabling them to apply their technical and business knowledge while gaining experience and exposure to the real-world scenarios, processes and expertise on engineering solutions. The students were also given industrial guidance and support by experienced hSenid engineers, in developing comprehensive solutions to suite the industry standards.

Over hundred applications from various universities and institutes were submitted for the island wide mobile software competition 2005. Seven finalists were selected based on criteria such as professionalism, market potential, innovation, ease-of-implementation by the operators and consumer friendliness.

The finalists will be getting a unique opportunity to present their solutions live to an exclusive audience comprising of top executives from the mobile network operators, banks and other industry players.
